Entry No. 010 · The Inmate Index
Ninety percent stoic, ten percent composed panic. The most valuable skill nobody puts on a resume.
Full Definition
Meeting Face is the practiced, controlled expression that gets you through any meeting without revealing a single true thought happening behind it. Ninety percent stoic. Fully composed. A slight nod at appropriate intervals. Maybe an eyebrow raise if the room requires it.
Done right, it reads as engaged, professional, and unbothered. What it's actually doing is buying you time and cover while you think about literally anything else: dinner, the weekend, whether anyone would notice if you left.
It's not deception. It's armor. The version of you in the meeting doesn't need to be the whole truth. It just needs to survive the next thirty minutes.
Signs You're Living It
Survival Move
Practice it on low stakes meetings first. By the time you need it in the room that actually matters, it should feel like nothing.
